Livarot Walk
In 2021, Bridget Simmons, who lived in the area, and I started designing the area with semi-circles. We began with approximately 21, but South West Water had to carry out some work there, so we lost some of them in 2023. Miki King then took on the work there as Bridget’s health declined and increased the number of semi-circles to enclose the entire area.
We also agreed with NDDC to have a large wildflower bed there and to plant some trees. Miki King now mainly cares for this area and, despite ongoing vandalism, we continue to improve it. The residents all love it.
We also have Will Sutton, who mows the grass when NDDC do not have time. The gardening club at the Community College has also done some planting there.
Lyn Essery and local school pupils have also been painting pebbles which are placed around the edge of the semi-circles.
